Evaluations

A Physical Therapy evaluation is an examination and assessment of your child, looking at a number of areas including range of motion, strength, movement patterns, and perhaps pain if any.

Performed in your preferred setting, the evaluation will take a comprehensive assessment of your child, and discuss your family goals. If it is determined that physical therapy is recommended, a treatment plan will be created. The treatment plan includes a recommended frequency of care, and individualized and measurable goals to address the findings from the evaluation.

Evaluations include: Performed in-person or virtually for one hour (60 minutes), a copy of the written therapy report, and initial recommendations for home activities to perform.

Treatments

Treatment sessions look and feel a lot like playtime - and hopefully are just as fun! The reason here is to keep kids engaged with age-appropriate activities while working on the hard stuff. Selected activities are geared to address the findings from the evaluation and assessment, such as improving balance or strength.

Treatment sessions are for families who have had an evaluation already completed. Specific activities and games will be performed to address your child's needs, will working toward the therapy goals. Most importantly, time will be spent to educate your family on activities you can perform on your own with your child to maximize their therapy outcomes.

Treatment include: Performed in-person or virtually for 30/45/60 minutes, a summary of the treatment, and updated recommendations for home activities to perform.
